Rules of the River
* All shells that row in darkness shall have fixed, flashing lights,
bow and stern. This means two lights, one at each end of the boat, affixed to the hull, not to a rower.
* Slower launches and shells shall move to port and yell "Look Ahead" to overtaking launches and shells. Overtaking launches and shells shall stay to starboard.
* Novices are cautioned not to row when flow exceeds 8,000 cubic feet per second, as indicated on the USGS web site. Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service forecast for Schuylkill River
* All rowers should consider the flow when deciding whether or not to launch. Rowing is prohibited when flow exceeds 18,000 cubic feet per second.
